Caritas Homa Bay, funded by Cheshire Disability Services Kenya, conducted digital training sessions for youth with disabilities in Homa Bay and Migori Counties. The initiative aimed to empower participants with essential digital skills, including computer proficiency and internet usage, through targeted training sessions. Selection criteria ensured inclusivity, focusing on enhancing the participants' capabilities for future career opportunities. Follow-up and monitoring activities was carried out in the months of April and May to track progress and address challenges faced by participants in applying their newly acquired skills. The design and rollout of the training package on digital skills have led to improved digital literacy, enhanced specific digital skills, increased awareness of digital safety and ethics, and greater accessibility to digital services among participants. This has not only contributed to their career development but also ensured the effective delivery of training. The positive feedback and learning outcomes indicate the success of this initiative, and the insights gained will be valuable for future training initiatives.
