Caritas  Homa Bay, with support from Cheshire Disability Services Kenya, facilitated the formation of youth and children's groups for lobbying and advocacy, such as ‘Young Voices’ and ‘Alumni’ at Cardinal Otunga Pastoral Centre. The initiative aimed to empower young people with disabilities and their peers by providing them with a platform to engage in advocacy efforts, raise awareness, and promote their rights. The groups were trained on lobbying techniques, public speaking, and strategies for influencing policy changes. Outcomes included increased youth involvement in disability rights advocacy, stronger networks of young advocates, and enhanced awareness of youth-led initiatives in the disability movement.
