On May 29, 2024, the Catholic Diocese of Homa Bay carried out advocacy training on disability mainstreaming at Cardinal Otunga Pastoral Centre, funded by Chesire Disability Services Kenya. Through workshops, seminars, and panel discussions, it successfully raised awareness among healthcare providers, policymakers, and stakeholders about the importance of integrating disability assessments at primary health service levels. The initiative elicited a strong commitment from participants to implement inclusive practices and influenced policy discussions to prioritize disability-inclusive healthcare.
