Caritas Homa bay under the Catholic Diocese of Homa Bay, with the support of Cheshire Disability Services Kenya, conducted a training of trainers on disability rights for targeted individuals and groups, including paralegals, members of the Social Justice Commission (SJC), disability champions, and peer educators, at Nyaburi Community Hall. The training aimed to empower these key community leaders to advocate for disability rights, raise awareness, and support individuals with disabilities in accessing their legal entitlements. The sessions focused on the legal framework for disability rights, strategies for advocacy, and the role of community-based trainers in promoting inclusivity. Outcomes included enhanced capacity among participants to educate others on disability rights, increased advocacy for disability inclusion, and greater community awareness of the rights of individuals with disabilities
